Raw Chocolate Mousse is the perfect dessert for any occasion!

Do you have children or guests with a sweet tooth? Don’t worry if you’re keto, I have alternative sweeteners that you’ve never heard of like Bocha Sweet! (no it’s not stevia with a funny aftertaste) Do you wish to ween them over to a healthier diet and lifestyle? Do you want a fast and nutritious dessert to serve yourself and your family? Well this dessert is for you! Shhhh don’t tell them that the main ingredient is avocado! In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Summer season is associated with the Fire element. Fire does imply heat and this recipe can cool you off. Avocados are cooling in thermal nature, sweet in flavor and build yin or blood. They contain copper which helps form red blood cells. They helpharmonize the liver and lubricate the intestines. Avocados provide nearly 20 essential nutrients including, Vitamin K, potassium, B-vitamins, folate, lecithin, lutein- an important antioxident great for eyes and skin, and Vitamin E- a fat-soluble vitamin that acts as an antioxidant that protects the body tissue from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals harm cells, tissues, and organs thus aging us more rapidly and causing degenerative disease. They are over 80% good monounsaturated fat which can help lowercholesterol when used in place of saturated fats. They further support supple and radiant skin. Avocados can help balance blood sugar and are a super-food when changing over to a ketogenic diet rather than a glucose based one. While cacao contains theobromine, a caffeine like chemical, and oxalic acid (should be avoided by people with kidney stones and gout), it can be used as medicine and in ceremony and celebration! It’s bitter flavor opens the heart and helps the liver. It raises dopamine and serotonin levels. It is an excellent source of magnesium and therefore wonderful for heart health, muscle tension, menstrual cramps, and sluggish brain. It’s known for it’s aphrodisiac properties! It’s a powerful, sensual medicine, so be prepared!


½ cup plus 2-3 Tbsp cacao powder (you can use cacao paste if you have it) or to taste. They now have cacao paste at Whole Foods as well as on-line (it comes as a brick, it’s really not a paste at room temperature) Cacao powder works just fine but cacao paste is an added bonus if you can obtain it.
2 young coconuts (the white ones), water and meat (I’ve made this without coconuts, just add more avocado. Keto peeps avoid the coconut water)
½ cup coconut oil and or an additional ¼ cup cacao butter-or a mixture of both (I prefer cacao butter mixed with coconut oil, it’s healthy fat)
1/4 cup monk fruit or Bocha Sweet sweetener made from a squash- Zero Carbs, Keto Friendly OR 1/3 cup or coconut nectar (syrup), or raw honey, or yucon or Jerusalem artichoke syrup (to taste)  or Stevia, or a combination of some of them. If you are doing strict gut repair you can use Monk fruit, stevia, or Bocha sweet
Pinch or two of Saigon Cinnamon
1-2 tsp raw vanilla powder
1 tsp vanilla liquid
4 large avocados (can add more if they are small or if you are omitting the coconuts)

*Dash of cayenne
*Macuna powder-Great for Dopamine enhancement (happy neurotransmitter in your brain)
*Toasted Maca powder
*1 Tbsp wheat grass powder
*½ cup soaked goji berries
*Hint of rose water
*Hint of peppermint (essential oil) or hint of Orange essential oil (optional) this means 1-2 drops, no more or you will be very surprised when you eat it.
*Vanilla flavored Stevia drops (I like Sweet Leaf brand)

1. Melt coconut oil and cacao butter and add raw cacao powder. (If you have cacao paste then, melt cacao paste on very low heat.I prefer using a double boiler. While it’s melting, melt coconut oil or cacao butter with the cacao in the double boiler.)
2. Drain coconuts and save liquid, then scoop out meat.
3. Peel and seed avocados.
4. Put avocados in food processor and blend, then add young coconut meat and coconut water (omit the water if you’re keto) and blend more, then add coconut syrup, or monk fruit, or honey or stevia drops and blend.
5. Next add cacao and coconut oil/cacao butter and blend even more until very rich and creamy. Add more sweetener, spices or chocolate to taste.
6. Dish into small serving bowls and refrigerate for 2 hours.

Topping option: Cashew Kream.
Soak 1 ½ cups cashews for 2 hours minimum. Add to food processor. Add 1 tsp raw vanilla powder or liquid, few drops of stevia, or monk fruit, or 1 tsp honey, or coconut nectar to taste. 1/8 tsp sea salt. 1-2 drops orange essential oil. 2 Tbsp alternative milk like coconut, almond, or cashew. May add more alternative milk for desired consistency. It should be thick and not runny.
Blend well in food processor and then top the mousse with a heaping dollop.

Serve with fresh berries or on it’s own.
