Vegan option, Paleo, Keto, Gluten & Dairy Free

This healthy and quick snacky dessert is perfect fuel between meals, kids’ softball games, breakfast, potluck yumminess, or when a friend comes over for tea. I love Chai spices and the turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory. When I travel, I always make food and bring snacks for my trip. These bliss balls really hit the spot! If you’re vegan you can replace the collagen with pure pea protein or simply omit. If you’re a raw foodie, then you can soak, sprout, dehydrate and grind your almonds yourself.
Serves: 10 – 15 bites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 2 scoops Whole Body Collagen (I prefer Designs for Health, I can drop ship it to you)
  • 12 Medjool dates, pitted
  • ¼ cup almond milk or coconut milk, hazelnut milk or alternative milk you like
  • 1 Tbsp raw honey or maple syrup or alternative sweetener like pure monk fruit or Bochasweet.
  • 1 tsp pure organic vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp cardamom
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp Chinese five spice (if you can’t find it or don’t have it, don’t stress and just use the other spices listed above.)
    Optional
  • ¼ cup shredded coconut (plus extra for rolling) or finely crushed nuts
  • 2 drops food grade Orange essential oil (it goes nicely with the chai)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add almond flour, protein powder, optional shredded coconut, salt, and spices, and mix well.
  2. In your food processor, blend pitted dates until it forms a ball of paste.
  3. Add dry ingredients to your food processor and blend with the date paste. Then add wet ingredients.
  4. Pulse until the mixture becomes a crumbly texture, yet holds together when you press it between your fingers.
  5. Roll mixture into small balls, then (optional) roll into shredded coconut, or even crushed nuts of your choice.
  6. Place on a plate and let set in the fridge for 15 minutes before serving.

Buen Provecho!
